Title: On differential uniformity and non-linearity of cryptographic S-boxes
How to design secure S-boxes is one of central subjects in symmetric cryptography and various design criteria of "secure S-boxes" are known and actively studied. In this talk, of these criteria, we focus on differential uniformity and non-linearity of S-boxes, which are highly relevant to differential and linear cryptanalysis, respectively. Despite of twenty-year research history of these two criteria, many theoretically or practically important problems still remain unsolved. This presentation introduces some topics on this attractive research area.
